Back to questions

Is my Self-Study course available online if I have the course shipped to me?
Yes. Your Self-Study textbook and exam are always available online even if you order the course to be shipped to you. You can log into your account and view the book online or print it. You can also take your exam online or complete the paper exam mailed with your textbook. Your online exam will be graded immediately upon completion and your certificate will be available online.

Back to questions

When will I receive my certificate of completion?
Standard Delivery
In most cases, there is a 5-day processing period once you complete your course before the certificate is issued in your online account. There are a few professions where we are required by the licensing departments to mail certificates. If you look under Completed Courses and see an envelope in the Cert column, that means we have mailed your certificates.

Express Certificate
If you ordered the express certificate option, the certificate is released to your online account within 24 hours of completion for you to print. If you are not able to print the certificate, we can fax it for you. In those professions where we are required to mail certificates, we will fax the express certificate and then place the original in the mail. If you did not order the express certificate originally, but would like to do so now, please call customer service at 800-994-3040 and have your payment information ready. The charge is $9 per certificate.

E-Check Orders
If you paid for your order with an e-check, no certificates will be released within 10 days of the order date to allow time for the payment to process.

Financed Orders
If you placed a real estate order and chose the financing option, no certificates will be released until your final payment is made. If you would like to pay off your order early, you may do so at any time by calling customer service at 800-994-3040. There is no fee to do this.

Back to questions

I need to take a break from the online course. Will my work be saved?
Yes, you can close out the browser window and the system will automatically log you off and save your progress. If you are taking an interactive course (reading chapters & answering review questions) and are in the middle of the review questions for a chapter, please be sure to answer all questions for that chapter before exiting. If you do not, the system will start you at the first question when you log back in.

Back to questions

How are hours reported for cosmetology/HVAC/electrician courses in Texas?
The hours for cosmetology/HVAC/electrician completions are reported to the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation by noon of the following business day after the course completion date. Courses that are completed on Saturday and Sunday are reported Monday morning, but are reported for the date of actual completion. This reporting process is electronic and the hours post to your TDLR education record within minutes of us posting the roster.

To verify if your hours have been reported, go to
http://www.license.state.tx.us/ContinuingEducation/CourseSearch.aspx?ProviderType, select your license type, input the numerical portion of your license number and click Search. If you paid your renewal fee before we were able to report your hours, please be aware that the TDLR system will automatically generate a letter stating that you have not completed your CE. You can disregard this letter as we would’ve reported the hours the following business day. If it has been longer than three days since your completion date and your hours are not showing on your record with the TDLR, please give us a call.
Back to questions

How are hours reported for a Texas real estate MCE course?
Once you complete a Texas MCE real estate course, you must sign the MCE 9-7 reporting form and return to us. We report your hours to TREC within 24 business hours of receiving this form. If you complete your exam online, this form is made available once you have finished your exam and completed the course evaluation that immediately follows the exam. The online form is auto-completed by our system and all that is required is your signature and date at the bottom. If you complete your exam on paper, this form is part of the exam packet that was sent to your proctor. When returning your exam answer sheet and affidavit of exam proctor, please be sure to include the MCE 9-7 form as well. You will need to complete the printed name, licensee information, signature and date fields. We will complete the rest of the information. You can return the form(s) by faxing to 972-954-8022, e-mailing to
info@statece.com, or mailing to P.O. Box 1330, McKinney, TX 75070.

I get an error message. What should I do?
If you get an error message, try completely closing down your browser and reopening it. Your work should be saved, and after logging in again you can continue where you left off. If this does not help, try
deleting your browser's Internet History. If this does not help, make sure you are using a compatible browser (see What browsers are supported?)
Back to questions

What browsers are supported?
Currently, the StateCE website supports Internet Explorer versions 6, 7, and 8, and Firefox 2 and 3. While other browsers may work, StateCE cannot guarantee the site's ideal performance and functionality. If you are an AOL user, try using Internet Explorer rather than the AOL browser.

Back to questions

Can I finance my real estate pre-license courses?
Yes, we offer 0% financing for real estate pre-license courses. With the courses in your Shopping Cart, after you click "Submit Order" on the "Review and Submit Order" screen, you will see a button saying "Click here if you would like to pay in 4 monthly installments" towards the top of your screen. Pressing this button will take you to the financing agreement, which will detail your payment plan - we have 0% financing, so under this agreement your total payment will be split up in 4 equal payments with the first payment due at the time of the order, the second one month from now, and the third and fourth payments 2 and 3 months from now, respectively. Clicking the "I Agree" button will take you back to the "Submit Payment" screen where you can provide your payment information.

To be eligible for this 0% financing offer, you need to order at least 120 hours from our real estate pre-license offerings.
